History

From the ethereal mists and shadowy realms, where spirits wander and the veil between life and death blurs, emerge the Spectral Dragonborn, a lineage infused with the ethereal essence of the undead. Their bodies, once encased in flesh and bone, now shimmer with a ghostly luminescence, their scales transformed into translucent apparitions that fade in and out of existence. Their eyes, once windows to their fiery souls, now glow with an otherworldly iridescence, reflecting the lingering enigma of undeath.

Legends whisper of a time when a cataclysmic event tore open the fabric of reality, allowing spectral energies to permeate the realm of the living. It was during this era of chaos that the first Spectral Dragonborn emerged, their bodies imbued with the ethereal essence of the undead. These spectral beings, forever liminal between life and death, possess an uncanny resistance to physical harm, their ethereal forms impervious to the blows of ordinary weapons.

Their breath weapon, once a torrent of searing flame or icy blast, has taken on a spectral resonance, unleashing a devastating wave of necrotic energy that can sap the lifeforce from its victims, leaving behind only withered husks. Their draconic heritage, however, has not been entirely extinguished. They retain the innate ability to commune with and manipulate the forces of arcane magic, and their mastery over the spectral realm grants them access to potent spells such as Unseen Servant and Darkness.

The Spectral Dragonborn stand as enigmatic figures, their existence a haunting enigma that defies categorization. They are both revered and feared, their spectral forms a mesmerizing spectacle that both enchants and unsettles. Their presence is a haunting reminder of the ephemeral nature of life, a spectral embodiment of the liminal space between existence and oblivion. Yet, within their ethereal forms lies a spark of their draconic heritage, a flicker of life that refuses to be extinguished, forever bound to the ethereal currents of the cosmos.
